These products are the ones that undergoes degradation under supporting climatic conditions to yield CO2, water and biomass at a rate consistent with other compostable materials. The residual remains, which is toxic free and is an excellent feed for the microorganisms that give us compost in return.
All the products pass under International Standards EN 13432, ASTM D6400 & IS 17088 norms.
Basically, as conventional plastics we were made of petroleum products and by products. But when environment concerns raised, we were upgraded and our basics redefined, and now we, the compostable plastics are manufactured from plant bases like corn, potato starch, etc. with hardly any greenhouse gas emissions.
